It’s a Teal 100th Anniversary Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother's Day!Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first Mother’s Day, Mothernova’s first birthday, and Food Allergy Awareness Week….

I can’t believe we launched one year ago today. Happy Mother’s Day to you, and happy birthday to us! Little did we foresee the wonderful parenting and food allergy friends and communities we would find!

It makes sense though. When parenting and food allergies are such an integral part of your life, your shared interests, advocacy and dedication inevitably lead to wonderful friendships and new bonds.

With almost 1,000 followers on Twitter and a few hundred more as we expanded to other social media outlets, Mothernova has grown from an idea into a rewarding and dynamic platform for awareness, shared dialogue and education. Thank you so much for helping us make this happen.

Help Promote Food Allergy Awareness Week!

Today also kicks off Food Allergy Awareness Week, which FARE began back in 1998. This year, FARE has started what it is calling #TealTakeover: a campaign to paint our communities in teal, the official food allergy awareness color! Check out other ways we can help promote awareness this week and get involved in Food Allergy Action Month!

Motherhood really is the most rewarding, challenging, all-encompassing, amazing, loving, caring, selfless and fulfilling chapter in my life. Here’s to all of my fellow moms. I know it feels like some days are very long and the sleepless nights are endless, but hang in there!

You are the only one your child wants and needs. In their eyes, you are it. And in your eyes, they are it. You’re a super hero! Only you know how to take care of them and make them feel better. How special is that.

Savor your precious moments.

AND know you are not alone, especially if you are managing extra challenges like food allergies, sleep apnea and other health issues. We all have something going on, don’t we. It’s nice to know we have people and places to turn to for help when we really need it.

Here’s to another year of sharing and caring. Here’s to you, super mamas. Happy Mother’s Day!

How did you celebrate Mother’s Day? How are you celebrating Food Allergy Awareness Week? We’d love to hear from you!
